100 cm Hanging Scroll
Black Ink Brushed on Xuan Paper.
This is an Ancient character from the Shang Dynasty (1556 to 1046 BC).
Oracle bone script (Chinese: 甲骨文) was the form of Chinese characters used on oracle bones—animal bones or turtle plastrons used in pyromantic divination.
It is a drawing of a man opening his eye to see, and therefore it’s meaning is, ‘To See’.

Product Information
This is a series of ancient characters from the Bone and Bronze Age scripts, which I am looking at and will use in some of my pieces. They are more depictive and when the meaning is explained, become meaningful. They are the foundation of characters in use today.
